Come join us in Costa Rica for the trip of a lifetime, as we photograph the fantastic tropical wildlife and landscape of this amazingly biodiverse country.  We will spend time in the rainforests and mountains where almost 900 species of birds reside, over 200 species of mammals, and 600 species of butterflies, in additional to countless reptiles and amphibians.  We hope to view the prized resplendent quetzal, toucans, scarlet and the endangered great green macaws, tree and poison dart frogs, monkeys and sloths.  And of course, there is the amazingly lush landscape of volcanoes, mountains, waterfalls, and so much more.

We will begin on the beautiful grounds of our hotel outside of San Jose where many plant, flower, bird and butterfly species reside in these amazing gardens.  From here, we will set out for the Caribbean foothills and then the highland and cloud forest mountains to photograph a wide variety of subjects.  We will work with multi-flash hummingbird set ups (set up provided, you just bring your camera!), proper technique and use of fill flash and ambient lighting, and macro photography of frogs, butterflies and insects.  Some light walking is required with camera equipment, but the pace will be leisurely. We will end our journey with a final night again at our host hotel outside of San Jose.

INCLUDED: 8 nights lodging, meals, park fees, transportation and guides during the tour are included in the price.  We will also have the accompaniment of one of Costa Rica's top bilingual natural history tour guide and photographer.

Airfare to San Jose, airport departure tax (may be included in your flight price), gratuities, alcoholic beverages, personal items, trip insurance are not included.

Tour limited to a maximum of 8 participants.

Price: $3,195 based on double occupancy ($395 single supplement fee)
